About Us
The Gond, an indigenous Dravidian-speaking comunity, is one of the largest trubal groups in India Historically the vast central India region known as GONDWANA they established kingdoms between the 13th and 18th centuries before facing decline under Mughal, Maratha, and British rule.
The Gond have formed many kingdoms of historical significance. Gondwana was the ruling kingdom in the Gondwana region of India. This includes the eastern part of the Vidarbha of Maharashtra. The Garha Kingdom includes the parts of Madhya Pradesh immediately to the north of it and parts of western Chhattisgarh. The wider region extends beyond these, also including parts of northern Telangana, western Odisha, and southern Uttar Pradesh.
Traditionally the Gonds are polytheistic and followers of animism and Nature worship. Their religion is deeply rooted in them and it still occupies a pivotal position in uniting them to live as a compact social group by conditioning the various human behaviours
